Available Arkansas (AR) Vital Record Types
Birth Certificate
A certified copy of a birth certificate that can typically be used for travel, passport, proof of citizenship, social security, driver's license, school registration, personal identification and other legal purposes. Birth Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of Arkansas from January 1, 1920 to present.
Important Note - There are a limited number of birth records for events that occurred starting in 1881 for Little Rock and Ft Smith. There are also a limited number of birth records for events that occurred before 2/1/1914 within the State of Arkansas. Please submit a written request directly to Arkansas Vital Records for these event dates.
Death Certificate
A certified copy that can typically be used to obtain death benefits, claim insurance proceeds, notify social security and other legal purposes. Death Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of Arkansas from 1/1/1920 to present.
Divorce Certificate
A certified copy of the Certificate of Divorce. This is not a copy of the divorce decree. Divorce records are available for events that occurred within the State of Arkansas from 1950 to the end of 2010.
Marriage Certificate
A certified copy of the Certificate of Marriage. This is not a copy of the marriage license. Marriage records are available for marriages that occurred within the State of Arkansas from 1950 to the end of 2010.
