Death Certificate
A certified copy of a death record that can typically be used to obtain death benefits, claim insurance proceeds, notify social security and other legal purposes. Death Certificates are available for events that occurred in Tarrant County, except for the following locations:
- Arlington from 1/14/1971 to present
- Grapevine from 8/20/1973 to present
Death Certificate Verification
A verification of death that can be used if the requestor is not a qualified applicant but requires proof of death. Death verifications may or may not be used for legal purposes and do NOT contain the cause of death or PPI information.
The requestor will receive a letter on Tarrant County letterhead with a county seal verifying the following information:
- Name
- Date of Death
- Place of Death
- File Number
- Date Search
